HMDC FORENSICS - Elementary Team (Spring 2026)

These materials assist students in tracking their homework and progress. The syllabus provides a tentative homework schedule and details the lessons for each meeting. The student workbook offers a step-by-step guide for most class activities. Each week, students have two sets of homework: one centered on developing forensics skills, including debate, and the other on deepening their understanding of the topic at hand.

HMDC FORENSICS - Model United Nations (Spring 2026)

The Model United Nations Homework page for Spring 2026 provides students with the resources needed to stay organized and prepared throughout the course. We meet once per week during the spring session, and the syllabus outlines each class meeting along with a tentative schedule for weekly preparation assignments. The Model United Nations handbook serves as a step-by-step guide to help students understand their assigned country, research global issues, write position papers, and participate effectively in committee discussions. Each week students complete preparation activities that reinforce the skills learned in class and help them get ready for simulations and the final Model United Nations conference. These materials allow students to track their progress and prepare confidently for every meeting. There will also be an intramural conference in June.

HMDC FORENSICS EVENTS (2025-2026)

Model United Nations, Mock Trial, & Model Congress provide students with excellent opportunities to develop strong speaking, research, and critical thinking skills through structured simulations of real-world institutions. In Mock Trial, students take on the roles of attorneys and witnesses while presenting cases in a courtroom setting. In Model Congress, students debate legislation and learn how laws are proposed, discussed, and passed. In Model United Nations, students represent countries in simulated UN committees where they research global issues, propose solutions, and work with other delegates to draft resolutions. Throughout the year, HMDC students may participate in competitive events connected to these activities, including local tournaments, regional competitions, and conferences hosted by universities. These experiences give students the chance to apply their skills in realistic settings while building confidence, leadership ability, and the communication skills that will benefit them for many years.
